National Curriculum DS Brain Training????

I hope I've posted this in the correct place,

DD due to health problems is getting herself quite upset, in that she sometimes just "blanks" & can't remember simple spelling, maths, stuff etc etc, often that she knows well, she's also missed quite a bit of School, Though her Teachers tell me shes still doing very well in all her subjects, DD can be a bit of a perfectionist & very hard on herself.

I've tried working with her on topic stuff at home, which she asks me too, more effort with homework etc etc..........but finding it can get very stressful & she often just goes into melt down over the slightest mistake

I recently bought her a DS Junior Brain training game, thinking it might help her & her confidence, which seems to be the main issue, rather than her ability, & it is brilliant, she loves it & is practising/learning skills without realising , so no stress

I just wondered, if anyone knows if there is a version of this, or another similar game that is linked to the national curriculum??.......... I've asked in shops, but they just look at me like I'm mad

the maths trainer game is quite good for number bonds and such. It is very useful for times tables in our house.

What about the BBC Bitesize website? DS loves it. And it's free!!

Thanks both of you, I will look into those, though she seems to have gone off the internet ATM,

she likes sitting outside with her DS, & enjoys winning new games with the brain training challenges......but I'm going to book mark it anyway, as i'm sure she'll be pushing me off her again soon enough

the times table one sounds good, will definitely look out for that....thank you .....just need to find a curriculum spelling one now

For Maths can you try something like Maths Whizz. They assess right across the Maths Curriculum and your dc only moves up a level when they are confident in the topic - it may help to deal with the gaps caused by missing periods at school due to illness. My dc's use it and it has really helped their confidence.
Otherwise I'd also recommend Bitesize, it's free & fun.

Sorry should have said you need a computer linked to the internet for Math Whizz.
Good Luck!

Thanks Chuck & Stars, I will look into those, though we do use a MAC, so I'm not sure they will be available,I've had problems finding things like this when she was younger.......... but if DD is keen to use the computer again for the BBC bitesize, then it might be worth looking into properly....

thanks again
