Lincolnshire.

Here the results have to be out before the preference forms are submitted for secondary school so our yr 6's sit the 11 plus end September and the results are out before half term.

You're so lucky. the 11+ here is at the begining of Oct, then we wait and wait to find out which school is alocated. We have no idea who well the children have done untill then. It's a long painful wait.

Well we still have to wait until 1st March to have a place confirmed! It's a strange system here, even if you pass the 11 plus, you aren't absolutely guaranteed a place ( although it rarely happens that you don't get in) The top 25% pass the 11+ ( it's a standardised score) then each grammar school has it's own admissions policy (our local one is based on which parish you live in, some are based on siblings first, some on distance from the school.) You also have to place them highest on the preference form. ( I think this is correct, the procedure seems horrendously complicated!) You need to know whether you have passed the 11+ before filling out the preferences form because it's a waste of time putting a grammar school down if you haven't passed! ( although this was the system when my son sat his 11+, you just had to hope he passed, luckily he did!)

I didnt realise how different things were in different areas, thought it was all the same. I know the allocation of school is around March, but the results is a lot earlier, just cant remember when before they break up in december

Very on top 25% passing. Around here I'm told it's the top 2% of children who pass (based on school places available)...but have worked out it's 20% of children who actually take the test that are offered places.
