Ask the teacher, I don't think it's unsuitable.
It's hardly a swear word.

I don't understand. Who crossed it out? Who thought up the spelling list?

FlamingoDuBeke Mon 21-Sep-09 17:31:43

Oh, and agree it's not unsuitable.

Harimosmummy Mon 21-Sep-09 17:39:14

Maybe a parent has complained about it in the past, and that is why it is now crossed off the list?

FlamingoDuBeke Mon 21-Sep-09 17:45:18

Stupid teacher!

1. why does she think it's unsuitable?
2. If she does think it's unsuitable, why not get off her lazy arse and write her own list of more suitable ones?

whoingodsnameami Mon 21-Sep-09 17:47:04

Perhaps the teacher does'nt know what it means and did'nt want embarrass herself by admitting itgrin

RubysReturn Mon 21-Sep-09 17:50:53

Could it be unsuitable becuase it does not fit with a spelling pattern they were practising?

Or perhaps the teacher lives on a Big Love stylee compound?

FlamingoDuBeke Mon 21-Sep-09 17:52:29

Maybe she can't spell it herself grin

I agree with Hulababy, there is a high chance that someone complained about it previously, or would complain about it.

Perhaps all the others start with the 'bye' sound, that's why this one is odd. That's the only reason I can think of
