How do you mean?

My DD is about to go into Y3. I have bought her the usual - uniform including PE kit and the extras school have asked for, new school bag, pencil case and contents, etc.

It depends.

All we have been asked to provide for YR3 for DS is a Arch/Lever type folder, 100 plastic sleeves and some dividers to go in it.

No mention of pencils or anything.

We will have to but a PE tshirt in house colours but they are not allocated a house til after they go back, so that will ahve to wait.

Agree, it varies.

We don't ask parents to provide anything but PE uniform. Pencil cases are a privilege for Y6s only.

Our year 3's are allowed to bring in pencil cases (and contents)but thats about it.

A4 folders and 100 plastic pages plus dividers for year3

Ds school didnt ask for anything, didnt even send a letter home saying anything about next year - not even teachers (True that mine arent returning to school next week, but I dont think the other parents got a letter either)

We got a doublesided leaflet, explaining the house system, about snack time changes (in juniors we pay for toast for them), the layout of the junior part of the school, the new gates they need to go in by, and the info on the folders and stuff.

Plus a picture of the two YR3 teachers!

They explain the reason they need the folders is they start to encourage the children to be more self sufficient in storing and maintaining their own work!

We don't need anything extra- school supply them with all the stationery they need.
I think they have files at school which they use a ring binder for organising their completed work , but again the school supply this,

No, it's our nearest primary!

Toast has only been available in the last year ot two by popular demand!

The juniors were complaining because they did not get fruit, but did not really want fruit anyway, just something to eat!
