Im sorry just having a Rant grrr.
My daughter recieved all level fours in her sats and i keep getting comments that thats just average . Well actualy what my daughter has been through it aint average , she has dyslexia and dyscalculus . Had to deal with her uncle being in a fire and life support for two months , having spoilt little kids in her class bullying her and going from just me and her living togethor to having my partner move in and having a new sister ( which she found hard as she was used to me all to herself ) .
sorry i just get annoyed when people feel i should not be proud he reaching level four and pissed of with kids who think they are better than everyone else

This just shows the state that education is getting into when 'average' is seen to be not good enough for rating pupils and 'satisfactory' is seen to be not good enough for rating schools/individual teachers. The only reason averages exist is because there are better and worse than too and the only reason satisfactory exisits is because there are good and poor at either side of it. It's like somehow the government/people want us to live in a totally standardised world where EVERYBODY fits exactly the same measurements. Barmy.

And well done your dd.

Thanks hun . I just dont get why kids have to be labelled .

I told my daughter whatever grades she got i would be proud . I dont like the fact that these sats apparently predict how well they will do at G.C.S.E s . I think that is total crap

You have every right to be proud. Your DD is certainly overcoming some real hurdles.

The SAts are a useful measure as to how a pupil might do at GCSE. For example, a pupil on L4 at the end of KS2 would be on track for a L5 at the end of KS3 then a C at the end of KS4 if they follow the 'norm' expectations.

A pupil on L5 at the end of KS2 (ie above average) would be expected to get L6 or 7 at KS3 then A grades at KS4.
