After three weeks in P1 my lovely DD has turned into a smart talkin teenager with attitude

Where the heck did that come from? She mingled with the same kids at nursery and playgroup and never had this chatback attitude.

She's like a stroppy moody teenager and even said the dreaded phrase 'loser' tonight.

The faces she pulls and the arguing back make me want to kick her up the backside.

Where did my lovely, polite, sweet daughter go?

There's probably one bossy alpha girl in her class who behaves like this and they are all copying her.

We haven't got that far.... yet but DD1 is a little along these lines, just started year 1. I reacted at first, a lot, but i've since started to spend more one to one time with her and she's calmed a little. Shall watch this thread with interest though.

Shall try more 1 on 1 time though it's difficult with Ds age 3 and DH away a lot.

My DS1(4yo)can be abit like this (though has never used the loser phase on me ).

I've stopped arguing with him. He often deliberately says things to start an argument if he is tired, or fed up or just fancies being a pain. He also has very good verbal skills for his age so is very good at arguing his point. If he does this I just say OK and don't dwell on it. Don't get drawn into arguments is all I can suggest. Just ignore them or agree with her when she starts. DS1 is alot better since I have been doing this.
