Not unless he wants one. Usually everything is provided.

I take it you mean primary school?

Have never bought a pencil case or sent them with stuff on the first day TBH. They dont really need it in reception, its about getting used to school routine and all that.

Just send him with bag, PE kit and butties (if not on dinners!!!) and I am sure he will be fine.

Does he go tomorrow? Who is more nervous, you or him!!

Best of luck, hope it goes well

All stationary is provided in primary school. Don't send them in with anything unless you have been asked to.

All DS needed when he started was PE kit and plimpsoles and a water bottle.

If you want him to stand a chance of not losing his pens, pencils, erasers etc etc, I'd say a pencil case ( a cool one, obviously) is a very good idea.

DD1 is starting secondary school this week, and needs her own pencil case for the first time. She is enjoying filling it up immensely.

Rymans have got clear ones for £1.29. BARGAIN!

actually theirmum since that sounds like a private school (late start and tie and hat and £300 uniform) then he may need pencil case.

Hula's DD (who goes to private school) has to have one, she posted on another thread.

We have to provide one at junior level in our state school.
