Blimey - that's a lot of paper and pensshock.

Posieflump - I think it's going to have to be a banana - you can write on the skingrin.

I noted all the branded stuff - always more expensive than supermarket/own brand stuff.

I would question why is has to be named brand. Surely a box of snot rags is a box of snot rags whoever made them. I can understand that not wanting glitter markers etc but what if one wanted Caran d'Ache pencils for ones budding Monet? winkgrin

I can easily believe a class can get through 60 reams of paper in a year - judging by the amount we order at school....

claricebeansmum Wed 13-Aug-08 19:40:39

The thing is - if this is all compulsory and is has to be these brands then why can't school/PTA put in a giant order and get it over and done with...

Urgh, this thread is so depressing. Ds1 starts school in Sept, and its cost £60 for uniform, even with the 3 for 2 offers and a 20% off voucher someone gave me. Plus £50 maintenance fund, £75 school dinners per term. Its only gonna get worse, and then ds2 will start school too sad

My DD starts secondary in sept (France) and her supplies list runs to 2.5 pages. Nearly all stationery, but it seems we have to provide everything bar text books.

Is a state school in a deprived area, no idea how some families afford it all.

No uniform either, which makes clothing her doubly expensiveangry

castille Wed 13-Aug-08 20:06:45

We don't have to buy specific brands though.

What's with the disinfectant wipes?!

astonishing. Do you know any parents already using this school? maybe people don't actually buy all this stuff?
