I am sure I'm making dd's h/w too complicated for her She has been asked to list 'ee' words and write a sentence for each using the connective 'and'. I am sitting here thinking she needs to join all her individual sentences but then this seems like a lot of 'ands' . Or does she just need to have a sentence with an 'ee' word and an 'and'. OMG this is only Yr 2 and I'm stuck. If anyone can simplify I'd be so grateful. Also she eagerly began this by herself in PINK pencil and I have told her to use a proper lead pencil so now she's worried the teacher will be cross so any more stress will tip her over

The way I understand it you think of a load of ee words then afterwards think of a sentence using that word. so,

I have teeth in my mouth and I use them to bite.

Then start a new sentence for the next word

Like this:

I bought some sweets and when I got home I ate them.

(Actually s it the 'ee' sound or actually double 'ee' words)

EE sound can be made by using 'ee' 'ea' 'y'

I was happy yesterday and today I am sad.

I would have thought it was just several sentences with 'ee' and 'and' in them.

It is quite probably the 'ee' sound so lots of words that make the eeeeee sound but different spellings (clean, been, funny) as you start focusing on the ways of making sounds in Year 2 .

Many thanks for such quick replies everyone. I thought I was making it a bit too hard . I'll just get back to making her learn her 9X tables now (btw that's a joke).
