Returning to UK- primary schools

Hi. We're returning to live in England after many years overseas. I need to decide where to live and find a good primary school for my 7 year old! We were thinking of looking at Worcestershire. Does anybody here know the area and where the good primary schools are? Or another area that you would recommend? Many thanks.

Chelmsford? It's got really good schools, lots of nice restaurants and bars, decent shops, parks, an ice skating rink and it's only 35 mins to London by train. Chelmer Village,is really popular (there's a good shopping centre there). Beaulieu Park is nice too. Broomfield, Writtle and Great Baddow are other areas worth considering. Avoid the Melbourne estate and Meadgate Avenue, both are pretty dodgy.

I live in south Worcestershire and love it here. Were you thinking of a small town or larger?

My brother teaches in Worcestershire, they have the middle school system in some areas so change schools at the end of year 4. Worcester doesn't but the villages/smaller towns do.

I really like the middle school system, and it was great for my ds. A pity that the Avonreach MAT have decided to add yr 5/6 to their first schools and yr7 to Pershore high

The school that DBro works at wanted to do that a few years ago but the other schools and the public weren't in favour so it didn't happen.

I wanted to reply to you each individually but can’t see how to do that! So a big thanks to you all anyway!
