My ds is at a tiny village primary school which was judged to require improvement almost 2 years ago and Ofsted have not been back? This seems odd especially as it seems like every school in the area has been inspected and were all previously good. Numbers are low in the school and there are a few families leaving.

Anyone with any knowledge of this think its odd that Ofsted have not been back and am I being paranoid thinking the schools future could be in jeopardy particularly as number are declining?

They will be back. They’re always back, (a bit like herpes).
Is there something that you are concerned about in relation to your own child?

Just wondering if we need to start looking for another school as I heard a reliable whisper that some teachers were concerned for their jobs but that was due to falling pupil numbers.

That’s a call only you can make. Personally I would just ask the Head of closing is likely and make my move from there.

Pupil numbers drive funding for the schoo. Therefore if pupils are leaving there is less funding but also less need for the same number of teaching hours.

I would look critically at what the school has managed to achieve in the last two years. What improvements have been made? This is the most important thing. Can you judge if your children are well taught? Are they making good progress?

However, ofsted will be back!

24-30 months, no visits in between if it the the 1st requires improvement
