What classroom essentials are you always in short supply of?

Instead of buying a thank you present for my son's Y3 teacher I thought I'd get him some classroom supplies instead (please tell me if this is a terrible idea, I kind of assumed it might be better than more wine/beer/chocolates).

I know in KS1 it's all about colouring pens and glue sticks (I volunteer as a helper in yr1!) but have no idea when gets used a lot in KS2.

Thank you!

Still glue sticks!

Although rulers, protractors are often in short supply too.

Whiteboard pens are an endangered species across the upper end of the kids' school now (albeit infants but it continues through the juniors as well)
