If a teacher who doesn't qualify until the New Year is already taking a class within a school on their own, no-one is in the class overseeing them. Do they once qualified have to apply for that position within the school?

They might or might not. The school might have offered it to,them already. They might advertise. The teacher might not want the job.

I've never known anyone be under obligation to take a teaching job. Usually all posts have to be advertised.

Only HT posts need to be advertised
