We had a tour at Marlborough primary school yesterday. I was very impressed with the new school and the head teacher. I am looking for some reassurance. Anyone got kids in that school? Any feedback is really appriciated!

The one in Macclesfield? Or in Marlborough itself?

Assume you mean Chelsea since you refer to new school. If so, my DS has just started in Reception there

Aww I was hoping it would be the one in Macclesfield as that's where we are looking, but doesn't look that way.

Mixed feelings about this primary. One of the reasons that helped us to make a decision about sending our child to Marlborough were fantastic reviews and ratings that can be found on the internet. however, this school was never our first choice , it was not even on the list when we applied for a place but in the end it happened they had places. The initial tour of the school (it was last year when they were still housed in their temporary school building) and staff impression were also positive. I guess you have to be positive and cheerful when trying to market something. Once your child starts attending the school you may/ may not start noticing that there are probably better educational establishments Not everything is perfect at MPS and It appears that the management is not really interested in listening to the parents and take things on board. Sometimes it seems that the Senior management does not know what is going on or even that they try to ignore and fob off the parents that try to raise issues with them. This school could definitely put more effort in being flexible when organizing child/parent activities that usually take place at times when most parents are at work. You may also find that the front office/ reception are not very competent or friendly. I would also say that certain teaching staff may be lacking sufficient experience to do their job. There are definitely numerous parents when you talk to them that have issues or concerns but I have not seen much initiative to listen to their opinions or views and this is worrying. I know this is my personal opinion and there are lots of parents that rate this school very highly, hence , this will always be down to the individual experience , circumstances and expectations. This is not a bad school it is rated GOOD by Ofsted but I cannot see it being Outstanding . Admittedly, the new building is very nice and impressive compare to the nearby Outstanding primaries.

just to clarify the above post refers to Marlborough Primary in Chelsea as HALIZ was referring to their new building.

Hello everyone, I'm considering to move my daughter there for year one. Is anyone of you sending their children there? Obviously the facilities are wonderful but I would need more information about the quality of teaching, the comunication with the school and about whether they support with 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 children who struggle. I don't mean children with special needs but simply children who need a bit more time to grasp a concept or to keep up with the class. I really hope some of you can help because I don't know anyone who is sending their children there!

@GrahamM Has things changed over the last 2 years with the new headteacher or are pretty much the same? I am expecially referring to the quality of teaching
