Primary school. Barton hill academy

I want to move in barton hill. But dont know about the ratings of primary school, the one which i search is barton hill academy. I need advice about this is this good school?

There is a Barton Hill Academy in Torquay and another of the same name (newly renamed from Barton Hill Primary School) in Bristol - which are you interested in?

"Barton Hill Primary school" was deemed inadequate and put into "special measures" in 2014. A new organisation was formed which took over the buildings and pupils, and that new organisation has not yet had a formal assessment (one will be due soon)

You can see the most recent performance stats at www-compare-school-performance-service.gov.uk/school/141191 - generally it's a bit below average but about average when you take into account the additional challenges in the catchment area.

However it is still undersubscribed which is very unusual in Bristol because overall the city doesn't have enough primary places - so that indicates the local population doesn't yet quite trust the new organisation to be any better than the old. In 2016 only 51 families included it as any if their 1st/2nd/3rd choices despite there being 90 places available. I don't know if it was any more or less popular in 2017, only that it has no oversubscription statement so must have spare spaces.

It may be that when it gets its first ofsted it is considered to now be a reasonable standard and it will suddenly become oversubscribed like the rest of Bristol schools. Or it may be that it is still terrible.

Honestly the best thing you can do is go and visit it in person. You will get much more from feeling the vibe yourself than you will from looking on the Internet.
