Second Round Offers (London)

Morning,

I got into my fourth choice of school in London.

According to my local council website, second round offers will be sent out week ending Friday 19 May 2017.

I contacted my first choice school (catholic) and they advised that I was on the waiting list and my application was based on their second criteria (with first criteria being a member of the specific local church. I can't believe there were 30 reception aged children to fulfil criteria 1 but that is another story!).

My second choice school has been under subscribed for the past two consecutive years (hence I was surprised I did not get a first round offer) so I am waiting with baited breath to see if I am successful at either choice.

Is anyone else waiting for the second round offers? May I start a support thread for those waiting?

Just thought I would post an update on this as I guess some of you will also be in the same position.

We got into our fourth choice school in London. I've kept in touch with the head teacher at our first choice (catholic school) and was advised I was number 1 on the waiting list. Yesterday I got a call advising we got a place! I went in today to collect the forms as it's the last day of term.

This morning I got a call from our 3rd choice school. I thought we were very low on the waiting list as when I asked they wouldn't even tell us our position but they offered us a place too! I declined that having accepted the first choice this morning.

It's the last few days of term and there seems to be a lot of movement in highly populated city areas.

Good luck to those of you still holding hope!

Glad to see you've got the school you want now.

There's often a lot of movement in London, and lots of people get in via the waiting list by Christmas. But I suspect that would be a really irritating thing to post to someone who is waiting (in circumstances beyond their control)
