Hey guys, so I am moving to Derby within the next 3 months to go to uni!! I am very excited but I still have so much to plan, for example, what schools are going to be ok fo my 4+6 year old! Can anyone give me any advice, what primary schools should I 100% avoid? Any advice really, I want to be as close to the uni as I can get and with a good bus route :)
Thank you!!

Hi mum

I live 1 mile from the uni main campus so know the area well

Do you know where you're going to be living so I can give you more specific help?

in Derby we have catchment areas for our schools which may help to guide you, some are heavily oversubscribed but not all

Feel free to do me if you want

Do you know which campus you're studying at? Main campus is in Allestree best chance of schools are Lawn Primary and Marketon Primary
both are less than 1/4 mile either side of campus
Lawn often has places and has recently been rated outstanding, Marketon is slightly nearer an area where students often rent and is a also a reasonable school

Mickleover campus nearest primary is Ravensdale another good school

Your main problem is that you're after key stage one places so would be better to start enquiring now as they are often harder to obtain

Ok I shall look into them! I know it's a huge problem but I didn't know where I was going to be studying until 2 weeks ago so I couldn't really start looking for schools :(
Thank you for all your help xx
