Dear Mumsnetters,

I have noticed that there was an active forum for 7+ but not 8+, so I thought I start one to share our experiences and support each other.
We are waiting for WUS interview emails to come in today, fingers crossed. Reading from 7+ posts, I think it may arrive late in the afternoon like it did for them.
Good luck to everyone who is going through the exams!

Thank you Bonibon. We are sitting 8+. Our WUS email arrived at 5.30pm this evening.

Thank you Lastmindotcom. We are also sitting WUS. Are you sitting St Paul Juniors this Saturday as well?
Does anyone have any experience on what to expect for the WUS 8+ interview?
Thank you

Did any parents receive Wetherby 8+ offers in the post today?

vmag Fri 27-Jan-17 20:00:45

We got 8+ offer via email today for WUS. So relieved. Anyone from SE1 London Bridge area?

Lastmindotcom Sat 04-Feb-17 19:05:12

Letters are out today

We are on the waitlist for both 8+ WUS and SPJr. Is there anyone out there who knows someone who will turn one of these schools down? Trying to stay positive this week.

bonibon Sun 05-Feb-17 09:42:42

Schooling123 - if your SPJ letter did not arrive on Saturday, they will arrive on Monday depending on post.
njshorr - try to stay positive, I am trying the same smile Have you heard how long the lists are or an indication of how likely it is to get in from the waitlist?
Would be great to find out if anyone is turning down these schools. It is so hard to wait another week!

vmag Sun 05-Feb-17 09:50:02

Hi we are definitely turning down St Pauls over WUS.

bonibon Sun 05-Feb-17 10:06:58

I guess it is impossible to know if a waitlist will move as it will be different every year..

vmag Sun 05-Feb-17 10:49:19

Its always better to email or ask the school.

njshore Mon 06-Feb-17 03:01:09

Boninon, which waitlist are you on and which school is your preference?

schooling123 Mon 06-Feb-17 19:17:58

Does anybody know whether interview plays the major factor in selection process or is it mostly written results? We are on a waiting list...

DS in on the SPJS 8+ reserve list. He is very keen to go to SPJS - probably a combination of knowing boys already there, the outdoor space and the exciting engineering activities he saw at the open day. How quickly do parents turn down offers? Being on a reserve list a absolutely agonising!

2017Positive Thu 09-Feb-17 12:39:52

SPJN offered places to 42 boys, where take only 36-38, and additional 15 on the waiting list. apparently they only offered 1 place from waiting list today because all other places were filled.

schooling123 Tue 14-Feb-17 15:06:12

SPJN - has anybody from reserved list got a letter with the update on the situation i.e we are unfortunate etc ?

Lastmindotcom Tue 14-Feb-17 15:29:20

Waiting for a letter re final decision about Reserve List also.

I heard what Positive2017 posted and was told not to expect anything further from the school for those who didn't get in which seems a bit ...surprising actually and quite disappointing

2017Positive Tue 14-Feb-17 15:44:23

I am sure the school will still send something in writhing about the outcome as advised in the letter, I am also surprised they have not sent anything yet,

2017Positive Tue 14-Feb-17 15:47:53

Am I the only one called the school on Friday and received this information, or anyone else has similar feedback?

schooling123 Tue 14-Feb-17 15:52:09

I think initial letter said there would be another letter... regarding reserved list.

schooling123 Tue 14-Feb-17 20:59:12

or is it due to half term no letters for us?
