What size is your 4yr olds feet?
My DD has size 7.5/8 feet which seems much smaller than other children in her class.
On the other hand, DS (6) has size 13 feet!

DD (was 5 in October) is a 13
DS (8) is a 4!!!
Both have extremely narrow feet (narrower than C). Buying shoes a challenge!

They are both very tall (off chart and 91st centile respectively) and I have size 9 feet, so it's hardly surprising.

Why, anyway?

Dts are 5.5 and size 9. Why?

I'm a little concerned as my other children are 51st-85th percentle for height and my youngest (4) is only 9th percentle for height and her feet were a UK 6 until a few months ago.Hmm

I'm just a little worried about her growth as other kids in her class are so much taller and have feet of a UK 10-13ish.

There you go then, she's small, she has small feet. She'd be similar size to my friend's DD who just turned 5.

9th percentile is only a little under 1 in 10, so in a class of 30 you'd expect 2-3 children at that size - would expect her to be one of the smallest, but she's by no means off the scale or anything. More to the point, is she staying around the same percentile as she grows?

Size 10-13 is big if that's what you are comparing to, I have a 7 and 8 yr old with size 12 and 13 feet and I'm not expecting them to be short as I'm 6ft...
I would say mine would have been a size 7-8 at that age as they tend to grow one size a year

My dd is also 9th percentile. She's four and a half and a size 7.5 in shoes. Perfectly proportioned, someone has to be the smallest! Nothing to worry about if she's otherwise healthy.

My DD is in year 5 and wears size 13/adult size 1 shoes depending on brand :o her year 4 cousin is in adult size 5s.

Not sure why it matters tbh, assuming you can buy shoes that fit?

Dd has just turned 4yo and her feet are size 6.5... She's small. All children are different. Some have small feet. Try not to worry about it!

If you're worried about her growth, why not speak to your Health Visitor? 1000 people telling you that their 4 year old has bigger feet is not actually going to help you very much.

DD2 started Reception in size 6 shoes, she has very small feet but is around average height. She's wearing size 8 now, at nearly 6 yo. Dd1 on the other hand is the shortest in her class but started school in size 9 shoes (which she then wore for two years, her feet didn't grow).

Dont worry. DD age 6 who is about the tallest in her class (April baby) only has size 11.5 which is smaller than most of her shorter class mates. DS age 3 (end May baby) is the shortest in his class as has size 7.5 feet. We are 6ft 4 and 5ft 10 so I am confident he will tower over a class full of squirts one day ;-) !!

My son who was 5 in September is now an eleven after a growth spurt.
