Good primary schools around east midlands airport

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations of good primary schools
Within commuting distance of east midlands airport (45mins about max) happy to consider small village type schools with mixed classes.

Failing a named school recommendation any area recommendations would be appreciated! Suburb/new build type of area or village with amenities ideally rather than middle of town.

Thank you!

Have you tried the good schools guide? Or the usual Ofsted or parent view for schools in the area you want to live?

Try rightmove to find a property in the area you want to be in and then school view on the map to find the local primary schools. You will have to research each individual school.

A lit of the vill ages are nice. Research your secondary options as East Midlands is right on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire before buying. Some parts of Leicestershire including Castle Donington still have middle schools unlike the other two. Secondary schools vary a lot.

Thanks for the advice; its so easy to forget about secondary school issues when mine are still no older than Y1!

Sutton Bonington primary is excellent. The secondary it goes into (Harry Carlton) is ok.

Bredon primary goes to the Middle School in Castle Donington and then to Ashby (if you're in the right area). Ashby is very well thought of.

Chellaston is a highly sought after suburb of Derby with excellent schools at primary and secondary. The villages just south of it which also feed into Chellaston such as Melbourne and Aston/Weston on Trent. Ashby de la Zouch is popular and East Leake area might be worth a look as a closer area which fits your criteria an has lots of new build. Agree with Sutton Bonnington too.
