I would like some feedback on Dolphin School in Twyford as I am looking for my 2 children. Just relocated from USA. Have heard good things in the past but have been told that things are changing in the school and not for the better. Any news anyone?

You would be better asking on the local board for that area

Hi there
Our two kids have been at Dolphin since we relocated from London a few years ago. Our intention had been to join the school for a couple of years to get us over the hump until we could get places in local state schools, but the educational experience was so positive that we've kept them on, right through to the end of Y8. It was already a very impressive school when we joined (pre new head) but in my view the changes he has made since he arrived have been v positive. It could be quite a disorganised place before but communication has now massively improved. There's also a brand new science lab (one of the criticisms of the previous Good Schools Guide review when we were looking) and things like 2 brand new school buses, and the place has been generally tidied up. I know he's also introducing hot meals - a major plus for us working parents, and a bit of a bugbear amongst many of us til now! I struggle to think what changes he might have introduced that parents would disagree with....but my children are higher up the school, so maybe it's in an area I don't know.
Good luck with your decision. We have been thrilled with Dolphin and the breadth of its curriculum. I think it'll be my children's most important educational experience and will shape them for life. I also think you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere else as good. Feel free to drop me a line if I can answer any more of your questions.

I've replied more fully on another Dolphin thread today, but just to say it's an amazing school. Inspiring teachers and outstanding pastoral care.
