KS1 SATs and boycotting

This is getting ridiculous, what the government is trying to do. My childs class teacher has given in their notice, as they can't cope with the new curriculum and the idea of children aged 6 sitting SATs. I am looking into boycotting the KS1 SATs for my 6 year old child in protest.

I have signed the SATs petition. If you agree with me, then please sign if you haven't done so.

My dh is also stressed about the new curriculum and the effect is has on children. He is a teacher and can't cope with the new changes and curriculum the government wants to put in place.

This is getting silly. Headteachers aren't coping and are going out on stress, brilliant teachers are handing in their notice. Is this what the Government wants ? in their need to turn every school into an Academy school in the future so that is in effect takes the schools off the local councils books?

I don't know what to do and am considering trying to boycott the KS1 SATs with my Year 2 child next week. I am looking into how this can be done. Anyone else considering this ??

KS1 SATs can be sat any time in May (DfE take note). The only way you could realistically boycott is to take him out from now until after half term.

Anything else won't work because he'll just end up sitting them when he gets back.
