is there a list of grammar words that DC should know by end of year 6

Dd struggles with English and we have been doing ten minutes a day going through an usbourne book I bought. We have covered nouns/adjectives/verbs/adverbs etc but the book covers lots of things i didn't know like types of nouns and pronouns and verbs.

I just wondered if there was a list that the 'average' child should have an understanding of by the time they leave primary ( not a list for the MN geniuses please!)

Page 69 is year 6 but you will probably need to go through previous years too (as they will be expected to know them). Glossary at the end is useful.

Thank you - very useful. Modal verb is an example of the kind of thing I was thinking of. Something to work on for both of us

I would agree you need to look at the expectations for every year group not just Y6 as its culmative (glossary is useful)
