What differences do you see now your school has changed to an academy?

I was just wondering really. Do you find everything improved, became worse, or pretty much stayed the same with a posher exterior? Personally I would say the same with a posher exterior. My Dc seem unhappier and constantly pissed off, me and Dh are in discussions about alternative arrangements as a result.
