Chigwell school waitlist

My child is waitlisted at Chigwell school for entry into Reception via 4+ assessment. Does anyone has any experience of whether the wait list moves?
Do I call them ever now and them to express interest or write a letter to the head ensure if a vacancy comes up they consider us? I don't want to come across as needy but also don't want to get overshadowed in the list. They have mentioned they have no fixed ranking.

Any tips, on anything I can do to make sure we are not lost if a vacancy comes up will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest phoning them regularly and also writing a letter expressing how keen you are for your child to go to this school, why etc.

I agree with Hyagreeva. It worked for me for my DD's catholic prep school. I kept phoning them on a regular basis until they said yes. Schools will always have movement at some point so don't loose hope!

We were at the same place as you last year. On waiting list for few local preps apart from forest and didn't apply to Chigwell . And Just few week after the council's primary school placement allocations we received few offers. Keep calling if Chigwell is the only option.
Don't forget there still be lots of movement at 7+ Because of Bancroft.
