what foods does your child's school discourage?

friend's school bans nuts and discourages crisps, sweets and chocolate. however cake and biscuits (including chocolate cake and biscuits) are allowed. where is the logic in that?

Apart from hot food or drink (not allowed due to risk of burns) ours are allowed to take anything at all. It may be that if parents were continually sending unsuitable food for packed lunches or playtime that someone would have a word with them but ds has never had any comment on the content of his lunch box and I occasionally send an item that would be banned at some of the schools on here.
