fettes prep or st georges school for girls (prep) - which is better

Hello - can anybody help me please with advice about experience with their kids at fettes prep school in edingburg? Is it a good prep school?

Both are good schools. Both send most of their prep children to their own senior schools. So it depends what you would like longer term?

Agree with Journeying. You need to look long term so you need to have a good look at the senior school provision. The most obvious difference at senior level is cost also St George's is mainly a day school that finishes early whereas Fettes have long days and short days and many more boarders so Saturday school too. The other thing is that you don't know how your child will develop so you don't know which school would best meet their needs at senior level and it can be quite claustrophobic being with the same pupils for 12 or 13 years. You could look at Cargilfield Prep at Barnton as the school only goes up to age 13 so pupils must move onto a senior school but you can then chose the best fit for your child at that stage.
