Is there a DBS register you can check?

I can't find my DBS certificate and apparently you can't get copies.
I have got the number and date of issue though so is it possible for a school etc to look me up to confirm I'm registered?
I'm volunteering at DD's school and they want to see it ( actually got it for tutoring so school have never seen it)
Cheers

There is an online service but you have to register within 14 days of receiving your certificate

Would the school pay for a new check? Ours does for parent volunteers

There is no need for the school or anyone else to pay. DBS checks are free for eligible volunteers, which includes parent helpers in schools.

Plus (and I could be wrong) I think you still need a check for each different place so your dbs for tutoring unless it was done through the school/lea wouldn't be valid.

Thank you
I think that the new DBS as opposed to the CRB is not limited to one location. The one I have allows me to teach Language lunch clubs at several schools so it's not specific to one setting.
