Is there an easy way of remembering the ORT colour order?

So many people seem able to remember the sequence for the ORT scheme colours. Is there a way of remembering? DS is on stage 7, which I can see is turquoise, but I am sure that lots of people will know what colour is below turquoise and what is above. How do they know??

google NC reading bands - there are some good tables out there to refer to.

Alternatively, your DS may well learn them off by heart (my DS knows all the colours, plus exactly who in his class is on each level shock)

I am trying to find a way for me to remember! I was hoping for a mnemonic, or maybe a little song ...

I don't have a clue - I look them up when people talk about them on threads.

I find out the next colour when DD gets moved up a book band. I suspect people who know the order are either teachers, or have older children who have gone through it already. Why do you need to know?

ORT colours don't match the general book band colours

Please don't confuse the levels with :rubbish level, slightly less rubbish level, more rubbish, even more rubbish, yet more rubbish, oh no, more rubbish and finally we're getting to the end of the rubbish level. I'm sure it's not like that at all. I'm sure they're great.

I just use Reading Chest which has the easiest guide. Explains how ORT is linked too.

Why on earth do you need to memorise them??
Are you going on Mastermind with The Oxford Reading Tree as your specialist subject?

Columngollum The Time Chronicles are actually quite good.
