Putney High School Reception Waiting List

DD has been put on the waiting list following the 4+ assessment.
Is anybody in a similar situation of waiting for the phone to ring or have you already been called?
The letter indicated the 7/2/13 as being the deadline for those with offers to accept. However the school website indicates the 15/2/13 as being the deadline!
Can anybody advise as to how the waiting list works? How many girls are on it etc?
The school itself haven`t really disclosed anything & now it seems as though they are closed for half term since 15/2/13!

They will be processing responses and always over-offer places so just because some don't accept, won't necessarily mean a waiting list place becomes available. Other parents give notice much later in the term or even in summer term and forgo their deposit because they are waiting to find out about other school places that they might prefer, and in rare cases the call will come early in September when someone discovers that for whatever reason their daughter can't take up her place after all. If unsuccessful for Reception, you will probably need to indicate to the school whether you wish your daughter to stay on the waiting list for occasional vacancies in other year groups. They do arise from time to time.
I hope you are happy with where your little one is placed for September!

My DD is currently in reception at PHS, they have had a DC leave recently (due to parental work relocation) and just prior to the start of the academic year a DC pulled out (for unknown reason). So even if the deadline has long passed, people might still be called up thereafter.

Based on my experience, the waiting list only applies prior to the start of the academic year. If places come up during reception, then parents have to bring their children to the 5+ examination.

This happened to DD1 at another GDST school. We rang the school every few weeks. I really don't know if that helped, but we were given a place in June. Of course, we had accepted elsewhere, and lost our deposit there, but I think we made the right decision.
