Mums - where would you most likely notice a notice...

...offering SATs tuition?

I've done 1:1 before when the government funded it and would like to earn a bit of extra cash doing it again. However, I've since moved 200 miles away and don't have any "connections" around here, i.e. I can't give a fistful of cards to my mum and ask her to give them to her friends.
I know there are the obvious places like supermarket notice boards, but no-one ever seems to look at them!

Can I ask where you would be most likely to stumble across my notice/card? I'd love to get myself organised at the weekend!

Thanks in advance!

Got a local post office? Ours has a very well read ads board.
Any local magazines to put an advert in (ours comes out quarterly and we keep it for locals ads - always handy).
Any coffee shops with notice boards? Or sports halls? Tennis clubs etc...

Oh, great ideas! Thanks pancakeflipper. I'm fully expecting this weekend to involve a lot of driving around and popping in places I wouldn't usually go, so let's hope it's worth it!

Many thanks for these! These are great ideas. I'm currently on Vistaprint knocking up some cards, trying to refrain from splashing out on idiocies like advertising car magnets...

It might be worth trying the local schools, I've also done 1-1 in school and have been approached by DC's head a couple of times because parents have asked her if they know any tutors.

I've also known some schools sell classified space in their newsletters where tutors have advertised.

A lot of schools are still doing 1-1 tuition but using their pupil premium to fund it, so this might be worth an ask too?

Some school PTAs have FB pages - might be worth approaching them and asking if you can promote that way. You might have to offer a free first short session to the first X number that apply or some sort of promotion like that - i.e there has to be something in it for them.
