Anyone know of a school to be Ofsted graded 'outstanding' since beginning of term?

Not personally. Not any school specifically I know or have friends/ family that work in.

In fact none of the gits no-one I know has been OFSTEDed in over a year.

They are however in my school atm.

Are you searching for professional reasons or as a parent looking for a specific school in a specific area?

I do know of schools that are rated as Outstanding. (from 2/3 years ago)

No pressing reason, am just curious as can only find very few. I am a school governor and my school rates itself as this and I want to see the sort of features they are identifying.

My DS1 (reception) school was inspected this term and has moved from Satisfactory to Outstanding. It's a lovely school and I'm not a bit surprised although the outcome wouldn't have mattered much to me as a parent because I can see without the rating the positive impact the school is having on my son. I think it's nice for the school though as a recognition of the efforts they put in.

Just wondering what the reason behind the question is?

My son's school was Ofsteded 2 weeks ago. We're have been told the inspection will be available by November so I guess you'll struggle to find schools who have been inspected this term online yet. Give it a few weeks & check again but also look at older inspections.

Thanks but there are actually a couple of hundred already on line from this term....just none that I can find judged as outstanding.

I know two schools OFSTEDed recently; and several more waiting for them to decend. One was at the end of the summer term and got Outstanding, the other was this term and got Requires Improvement (the new satisfactory), but it was acknowledged it is improving, and its the first term for the new head.

Our pre-school was inspected about 2 weeks into term - staff answered the door one Monday morning to find the inspectors on the door step! Rated outstanding - can pm the name and address if you want.

Is it generally much harder to become outstanding now? What are the stats? I know our head is desperate to get an outstanding (was in special measures when he took over, now good with outstanding features). I think he's a bit aggrieved that the last inspection would have been outstanding under the old framework. Bless him, he's always on about it.

Haven't read the whole post but Ofsted changed their inspection criteria as of January 2012 I believe, making the whole process more demanding. This explains the paucity of outstandings awarded in 2012...so good is the new outstanding, as it were!
