Dear All,

We have Vaughan primary school in our guranteed catchment and I want to have the detailed feedback on this school. Another School in our catchment is longfield (but there is no guarantee that next year also we will be in their catchment). So if we do not get into longfield we would have been left with Vaughan school and I need to prepare myself for the worse case i.e. Vaughan School. So my question is how good is Vaughan school when compare to Longfield, Canon Lane and West Lodge? Which school is the best out of all four? Is it worth moving a home for West Lodge or Canon Lane when compare to Vaughan School? We have plans to put our DD in private school from Year 7 anyways. So in lights of this decision will it be a poor choice if our DD continue to study in Vaughan school until year 6 or should we move home closer to West Lodge even if we have plans to send our DD into Private from year 7?

Your early response will be highly appreciated as not much time left should we need to move home.

Why do you think that you will guaranteed a place at Vaughan, do you live at the school gates? There are no guarantees as the boundaries change each year - previous years are published as a guide not a guarantee. Just look at Norbury intake this year compared to the previous.

Also, what are you basing your assumption on Vaughan in comparison to the other schools that you list?

Have you visited each of these schools?

What's your criteria and what's important to you?

Have a look at ofsted online. You can get a lot of info from there.

Hi Feelingfull, yes I live 0.01 mile of vaughan school whereas there catchment this year was 0.5 miles so I live damn close to vaughan school and I am 200% sure we will get into Vaughan school.

My assumption about Vaughan School are based upon my visit to all these schools and also based upon the academic scores achieved by Vaughan school in past 5 years when compare to other 3 schools.

Prime Criteria is academic excellence, behavioural development and extra curricular activities. First two are most important because extra curricular activities can be done outside school/during weekends as well.

I have gone through ofsted as well but want to get the first hand feedback from parents

Does any of you have views/ feedback on Vaughan School? Does your child goes/gone to this school?

Hi Harmad, Just a quick one to find out how your DS got on at Vaughan School. Did you go there in the end? In a similar situation at the moment, we are in the process of moving to Harrow and Vaughan will be the closest to our new place. Keen to find out from anyone who might have some insight on the school in general. Thanks in advance

Hi. We are considering moving into the harrow area (honestly haven't narrowed it down much) and I was hoping for any insight on state primary schools. I have a daughter who will be starting in reception and another who will need to go to year 2. Thanks in advance.
