Kensington Prep

Does anyone know what nurseries typically "feed" into Kensington Prep? We are registered at other schools as well but at this point I am most interested in KenPrep. DD is 19 months and I am trying to determine where we should be focusing. I like Active Learning and we live close to Pippa Popins (which I am not crazy about). We are registered at Sinclair House, and the nursery at Falkner House (though I would prefer to stay in Fulham). Or perhaps it doesn't matter at all where she goes initially?

What about the Roche on Fulham High St or Twice Times in South Park? Other nurseries are near Bishops Park I think. I don't think any nursery is a particular feeder for Ken Prep but I'd expect Sinclair House to expect you to move to their Prep, same with Falkner House. Therefore I'd go where you are happy. Pippa Pop Ins is v expensive!! I'd also register with a non selective school like Fulham Prep as you never know what can happen during an assessment with a 3 yr old. Hope that helps and good luck!

Thanks milkshake for your suggestions. We are registered at Fulham Prep and I forgot to add that we have Roche on the list as well. I see your point about Sinclair House and Falkner House. I wrote this initial post while counting down the days until DD2 was born last week so once things settle down I will sort this out!

Have you tried Thomas' School nurseries? Lots of kids whose parents want their kids to go to Thomas's or Ken Prep go to Thomas' Fulham/Battersea and have their kids names down for both.

Thomas's does not have a nursery in Fulham only Battersea. Twice Times is rubbish. Try Puffins on Hugon Rd. Zebedee on Parson's Green. Active learning is daycare so unlikely to help. Pippa Poppins is okay. a good one as is Faulkner House. Faulkner House school is marginally better than n prep as I feeds more into St. Paul's o I would err there, Pufins is lovely.

As a KP mum with a DD in Yr1 I think worrying about a feeder nursery is pointless. They take girls who pass their assessment (basically an IQ test) with no regard for their previous nursery. All nurseries (day care and not) will follow EYF so will more or less recieve the same 'education', so if your child is bright she will be fine.

My DD and her friend both went to 'day care' and got in to KP, they are both doing really well.

I think it is hype about the entry assessment. I suspect they offer to most.

By the way, Active Learning offers half day sessions as well, so I would not exclude it - they have great outdoor space, organic food and children can do ballet, dance, French etc., have a look! I heard great things about Puffins and Zebedees as well. Have heard very mixed things about Pippa Poppins, I think other nurseries here suggest more value for money and are better and more fun for most children.

But definitely agree that you shouldn't worry too much about the assessment. A loving nursery is just helpful in general so that your child is used to interacting with other children, listening to a teacher, sharing, saying thank you etc., but all good nurseries would introduce them to these basics.
