Can I ask teachers/ education staff what they think was the 'driver' in the every child matters paper.
I have to look at factors that have changed the way the 'organisation' works in the last 3-10 years. I have to carry out a STEEPLE anaylsis which is basically look at whether the driver is social/technologigal/economic/environmental/political/legal and ethical.
I have said it was political but also social as it was to ensure the LA took more accountability for the outcomes for all children. That it ensures that the 'whole' child is looked at and not just the educational side within school. It helps with early intervention where there are concerns. I have mentioned technological advances meant that citizens often had access to and could discuss cases where children have been failed - abuse/neglect cases and also call for someone to be held accountable.
Organisation (schools) responded to the change by adopting policies such as 'healthy schools' and also in the case of my special school ensuring a closer relationship with other agencies. Multi agnecy meetings for children 'at risk' or with extra need and within my school that has meant GP's, peads. OT's etc actually come into the school and liase with teachers and parents to ensure all needs are identitifed and met.
How did anyone feel about these changes? It would be helpful to know how people feel it affected them personally - if it did!
Does this sound right - if not HELP please
