What English primary resources (text books etc) do you REALLY rate?

I have used Jelly & Bean for synthetic phonics teaching, and am embarking on Galore Park Junior English (and Junior Maths) for my DD (seven), and the Usborne Young Reading graded readers and really like them all but would really like to know what other English primary resources you (as a teacher) or your children (as a parent) have used that you think are fabulous.

Our Parents' Association is looking to help DD's school identify and finance new resources, so we need lots of ideas!

My y1 son likes the Lego City books in Bug Club and he also likes the ORT Project X reading scheme. He also prefers non-fiction over fiction.

I like the Usborne Beginners books because all my children find them interesting. They also like to dip into the Usborne Look Inside books with the flaps.

Is the Usborne Young Reading the chapter books one? My dd really liked them for easily read content and appealing illustrations.

I think you can get a classroom version of the "story of the world" books. They are aimed at HE families, but I use them with my schooled (and nurseried) children and they love the activities and stories.
