I second the suggestion. Also gave it to our 9 year old DS. He said it was good. And DH (being a bit of a child) laughed at some of the illustrations!

Are there any fiction books about growing up?

The same.

'What's happening to me.'

My ds (10) loves it and whenever he has friends round they go to his room and have a good read of it together- and a few giggles!

Perfect for this age group.

Fiction books about growing up?!

Harry Potter is a fiction book about growing up, but other than that, growing up is pretty factual.

We also got "what's happening to me"

Indigobell.... i remember reading things like judy blume (quite girly tho!) & diary of a teenage health freak, there was two of those one was by a boy and then the second by his sister.

Yes Judy Blume did quite a lot for girls.

Adrian Mole would be good for a boy I guess. Not sure how dated it would seem.
