Ds now year 3, told me yesterday he'd like a different table this year as he's always been on the 'red' table since he started school and his very good friend is on the bottom table and was hoping he'd get put on that table! Plus he says he gets stuck with another boy that 'annoys' him!
He confirmed the work on his table is not difficult and he finds it easy so it's not like he's struggling.
I brushed it off but woke up this morning wondering if he was serious about it. I'm hoping he won't start getting things wrong on purpose just so he's moved down. But then again ds is quite competitive and enjoys 'being smart' (in his own words!)
I'm wondering if I should speak to him again about it or just leave it and not make a big deal of it, just so I don't actually put any ideas in his head.
