Good IPAD apps for number / spelling

We are buying dd an Ipad for her 9th birthday. I can hear the gasps of horror already... but we do have reasons.
She is dyslexic and also has huge problems with numeracy - most of these issues relate to poor memory / visual processing. She has a few co-ordination problems so finds using a mouse extremely frustrating but finds the touch screen of the Ipad easy to use.
I want to load it up with a few educational apps - I know there's a times table one floating about that has been recommended on here but wonder if you have any other ideas?
Also want some games that could help co-ordination - I know you get kinds where you actually hold the tablet and move it to guide an object through a course - that would be great for her.
Also any ideas for games to improve memory skills - or anything that may be helpful.

Sorry no ideas on your question but we found giving our dyslexic daughter a small notebook to write on in school helped her so I would have thought the Ipad might too good idea imo

just checking out Shrek Karting for you to see how easy it is. I am not good at car games, but it does what you are looking for. It might be ok for her.

Osmos is fab,

froggy jump is good, you tilt the ipad to the direction you want the frog to continue in (my DCs love it).

we also have a typing app, might help with the spelling, can't recall what it is called right now and DS7 has the ipad in the middle of a sudoku so can't disturb him right now Grin.

Must say I only get the free apps unless it is something I am really looking for, especially for the DCS

You can use Spelling City on the IPAD. It is a great package and worth trying.

We have got a basic facts one as well but will need to find IPAD to let you know what it is

My daughter who is 4.11 plays on my ipad lots and we downloaded Maths bingo which is great. It's free with levels for all.

Try graffiti ball, it's free. You have to guide the ball to a target using a spray can.
There are loads of other free apps that you can try, If they're no good then just delete them.
