Please can I ask how many of each item of clothing your child has when they were/are in the Reception Class:

Polo Shirts
Skirts / Pinafores
Cardigans / Jumpers

I was thinking a clean polo for each day, two skirts or pinafores and three cardis or jumpers - what do you think?

I found 3 polos plenty but it obviously depends on how often you wash your clothes.

Two pinafores and one skirt.

Three cardis (my dds would never wear the jumpers!)

I find it depends on how many back ups you need...depending on how regularly you wash the uniform. I tend to launder twice a week so I need enough to get through at least a half week. I usually get a couple of days wear out of a dress/shirt but that depends on what they have done at school and if they have played outside once home.

3 polos, 3 jumpers and 3 skirts/trousers.

One on, one in the wash, one spare. But if you don't wash every day you might need more.

I have yet to see any of my 3 DC come home in a uniform that is fit to wear the next day, so it all gets washed every time.

So far I have bought 4 polo shirts (two packs of 2 at £6 each), 4 skirts (2 packs of 2 at £6 each) and I'm planning on buying 3 of the branded sweatshirts they have to wear.

My DD can be quite messy tho'.

mine wore shirts/trews/jumper
so 4 shirts (came as 2 pack), 3 trews, 2 jumpers

5 shirts
3 pairs shorts or trews
3 sweatshirts

They tend to get grubby sitting/ laying/ messing about in playground so 3 pairs of shorts has been handy. Girls are just as bad as boys. 5 shirts has been handy in summer term as I don't do a white wash as often as a dark wash and hes barely wearing his sweat shirts now.

3 x 2 packs of polo shirts (so that I only had to wash once a week)
2 x pinafores
1 x skirt
2 x cardigans
1 x jumper

It worked well. I did the same the next year and I'm doing the same this year.

Thank you for all your replies, and I've decided to go with:

Five polo shirts
Two pinafores
One skirt
Three cardigans
