Just wanted to put out there a thank you Mrz who always offers some really thoughtful ideas. I picked up something she suggested on someone else's thread to do with maths. I can't remember it exactly to be honest. I knew DD wasn't great at rapid recall. She's year 2 and has a few gaps so I look for some quick wins that might help her. I realised that she didn't know her number bonds with much speed and I know her tables need improving. Just the past few days I dug out the big maths folder I downloaded and DD has been trying to beat her score. I know we aren't using it exactly as it should but the jingle and the idea you can beat your score really appeals to DD and she's is totally gripped. She loves it that I do one as well and she marks it. I really do think it's helped her and she asked for more all the time. Kumon in the early stages is similar and charge a lot more than me adapting this resource. We both find it fun to do together which goes a long way.

Thanks Mrz for all your posts.

Pleased she enjoys it Smile I think the advantage is that it is only a few minutes and you are competing with yourself not being compared to others.

What is the big maths link? Is it google-able?

I can't do links, but if you google Big Maths Link, it will take you to the site where you can download the book free.
