oh bugger! DD (7)has a viral rash, but has OK from Dr to go to school, which is fine, but think she has given DS her 'bug'.
This morning and during the night DS has been coughing, temperature, cold symptoms and a rather dodgy tum. I have informed school and kept him off hoping that he will be fine to sit first paper on Thursday, but the guidelines for upset tummy are 48hrs after last upset.

What do I do???

Have kept DS off school today, but I dont want him panicking or being upset or doing this exam if he is not well. Surely he wont be the only one?

No, there is usually a later sitting for those who are ill. Phone the school and talk to them so that you know what you have to do (eg get a doctor's note). Hopefully it is a 24 hour thing and he'll be fine, but at least you know what the options are.

Tell the school now, they will be able to rearrange his paper if you give them plenty of notice.
Hope he feels better soon
