Friends issue

My dd has just started reception. She sometimes tells me which friends she plays with but sometimes says nobody wants to play with me. She used to say this at times at nursery but never noticed any sign of this. Is this something girls of 4 tend to say or could there be an issue.

Normal

DD1 said it in Reception

DD2 says it now (started last week). DD1 claims DD2's reports of loneliness are utter tripe Grin

My dd used to say sometimes that she had nobody to play with shortly after starting reception. I was worried, and so I went to ask the reception teacher, who laughed in my face and said that she was one of the most popular kids in the class. A thousand birthday party invitations later, I think she may have had a point. Grin

When she next complained about having nobody to play with, I probed a bit more, and found that actually, she had chosen not to play with some kids because she didn't like their game - and she had found nobody to play with who wanted to do exactly what she wanted to do. Not quite the same thing. :)

MagicMummy - that is exactly what used to happen with DD1 - "nobody played with me" because she didn't want to play their game, and because they didn't give in to her bossy demands Grin
