DD wanting to go shopping with friends

Today my DD who’s 12 came home and said that she’s planned to go shopping with 6 of her friends on a weekend that she’s with her father.

We live in Wales and the rules currently don’t allow for this but all of her friends parents have said yes (as did her dad) and I’ve been put in the unfortunate position of having to say no. I feel awful but I don’t want to contribute to the problem and I’m also currently 5 weeks pregnant and need to minimise risk there too. I’ve said she can still meet up with those in her school bubble outdoors, parks, etc but not in a busy shopping centre.

I honestly feel like the worst parent ever but I’m sticking to my guns. I just wonder what other people’s views were on this situation as so many of her friends parents don’t seem to have a problem with it! Thank you Flowers

You are doing exactly the right thing. And take the line that all her friends are allowed with a pinch of salt. Look after yourself.
