Period Pants for Teens

My DD started her first period yesterday age 10, she was really upset and shocked, worries than she won't be able to go swimming/dancing etc.
We have explained about using tampons for swimming and I will get her some to practice with.
Obviously this is all new, putting on pads etc and she leaked a couple of times yesterday, so although she isn't at school at the moment, i thought about getting her some leak proof pants for when she is there, does anyone know anywhere that does them for young girls as they all seem to be aimed at women!

Not pants but I really recommend the Bloom and Nora pads. I ordered some at the start of lockdown as I couldn't get any sanitary pads in the shops. I've now totally switched to using them. I've heard Modibodi pants recommended and that Sainsbury's sell some too. I'd buy one of each type that looks suitable before investing in more.

Also I started my periods in year 6 and remember how ill equipped the school was - no waste bins in the cubicles etc. I hope things have moved on since then.

I've been considering this for my DTDs (11) not yet needed so not a personal recommendation but I've been looking at Modibod Red which is a range especially for girls/teens.

Thanks, I have seen some on Amazon, abit cheaper that the modibodi pants. I'll have a look online at Sainsbury's too.
Yes in her school there are sanitary bins in year 6.

I'm expecting a delivery from ModiBodi Red today as it happens. DD (14) had some Thinx which she seemed to like so I've ordered these as I won't get stung by the import tax.

The Red range seem to be sized slightly differently to the main range so measure your DD to get the right fit.

ModiBodi do have a "30 day free trial" where you can return them if you don't like them - you can only use one pair though!

(If anyone is interested in ModiBodi I have a referral code for £15 off a £55 purchase for both of us.)

Any update on how you're getting on with these? DD started her period last night at her dads. They video called me at 1am as neither of them could work out what to do with the wings on the pads he'd bought her!
Period pants seems the way forward...

I'm not sure DD has used hers yet and she is in "school" at the moment so I can't ask her right now.

She definitely liked the Thinx ones but they are eye wateringly expensive When you have to pay import duty on them.

We haven't used our yet, I ordered the knickers off Amazon as they were cheaper, thought I would give them ago first.
We did order some of the Red swimming pants, not used them yet either! The weather turned before they got to us!!

DD1 has heavy periods. She uses Modibodi and they've been pretty good. During her last cycle she did leak once - I wonder if they're losing their magic a bit with washing and drying even though we're following the instruction. I do think they'd be fine for a light flow though.

Oh also I got a £15 off code if anybody wants to use it. I think they give one to everybody after you've placed a first order.

@IndieTara, I'll take the code if you've got it please. I've been looking at Modibodi for a while for dd, guess I might as well go ahead. I'd be amazed if she didn't start soon, given how long we've had the other signs of puberty for.

@Fink of you get a code after purchase, can I have it please?

Place marking as think dd going to start soon so this will be a useful reference

I've clicked on the website now. I'm just wondering whether I should get a whole bundle straight off, or try out one pair first and see what they're like (obviously wouldn't use the code for that). Even though she hasn't started yet, we could at least try them for comfort.

Swimming pants sound a good idea, I think a lot of ten years would struggle with tampons.
