Dd will be 9 next year and there are already lots of physical changes. How early is too early?

So if she's 9 next year surely she's just turned 8?

We were told from age 8 onwards is considered normal.

Why would you say, in April, that DD is going to be 9 next year? Surely she's 8 Confused?

I work in a large primary school. We have a number of developed/developing girls in Y4 (8-9 years old) with a few who've started their periods.

I don't think this is considered early anymore.

My daughter was 8 when puberty started, the Dr told us it was the early side of normal, but still considered normal.

It depends what physical changes you mean? A few girls will start their periods at that age but its very common to start to see breast buds or wider hips appearing at that age

Ok thank you. She's my first and I was a late bloomer. We've had lots of lovely chats about it all and she seems really blasé about it all. Clearly my concerns (which I've kept to myself) are unnecessary.
