DS is emetophobic. He has been very anxious about this for the last year or to - I paid for him to see a private counsellor last year and it helped, but it's creeping back again.

We do catastrophising ('what's the worst that could happen?' and follow it through) and reasoning with him ('we've gone to x, y and z where there are lots of people and we've all been fine').

What works with your anxious child?

I'd love it if he could beat this (he has been more resilient this term) as I have emetophobia too (but have tried very, very hard not to show it or pass it on...)

Thanks for any advice.

This book worked miracles with my DC8. Anxiety rarely surfaces now. Gave her the tools to chase it away. Smile

I would sexond that book my ds also went through a long period of this and the book definitely helped. It's little bit American but very accessible. Good luck
