I have an 8 year old DD who is completely un-selfishconscious about her body. Which I love. As once that innocence is gone, it's gone forever. My issue is trying to make her aware of what is appropriate and what isn't, and more importantly why, when it comes to how she behaves around other people.
Classic example - she was caught flashing as a 'dare' today in the school playground by running around with her skirt up. I want her to be proud of her body but it's the boundaries and how I properly explain them is where I am now struggling!
I should explain that at home we are competely open but I have explained to her the pants are private concept (ie no-one should ever touch there) and that what we do in the house isn't appropriate outside.
Any help or direction to books/website I will be very grateful for!
