What would be a good present for a 10 YO boy?

I've only got girls, and they are older now, so I'm completely out of touch with kid's toys. Budget about £10 to £15. I don't know this boy at all so nothing too gender-specific. Any ideas? Need to order it tomorrow...

Personally I'd opt for money in a card,, my ds is 8 he doesn't really play with toys anymore he asks for football kits and ps3 games which are quite expensive. If you give money he can put it towards something big he wants

My 10 yo would love Lego, Nerf guns as suggested above but would be deeply uninspired by a football or a baseball cap! Just goes to show they are all different, I suppose! He'd also love as many books as you can throw at him, but I appreciate it's not easy to buy books for children you don't know well.

He might like a venus fly-trap, though!

His birthday is approaching and I'm buying him a nice waterproof sports watch. It was going to be his 'big' present but I was amazed at how cheap they were, about £15 on Amazon!

Thanks all, I got a Lego Treehouse in the end, having stalked his mum's FB page and seen mention of Lego!

DS loved the lego treehouse, he still hasn't broken the kit up a year later.
