Does your 11/12 yr Ds play out?

My ds has increasingly retreated to his room. Is technology obsessed! He is a quiet boy with a few close friends, he's happy in his world not really bothered about what others do. I'm wondering if he's just turning teenagerish and past playing games but too young to hang aeound outside iyswim. I hadn't really noticed it but my partners kids are always playing out. We've moved into a new area and none of his school friends live near, same for my partners kids but the younger ones have made friends and the older one has friends on the estate from his school. There isn't anyone on the estate he really gels with. He's happy enough but I just don't want him missing out socially.

Mine goes out all the time but only since one of his friends moved to the same estate as us, and now plays with other new friends on the estate too. I think it has got easier since he started secondary school - as all the kids go to the same school.
